Der Momhil Sar is 7343 m located high mountain in Hispar Muztagh , part of the Karakorum main ridge in Pakistan.
The Hispar Muztagh is the second most western chain of the Karakorum main ridge and is bordered to the west by the HunzaValley. From there, the chain reaches a height of over 7000  m for the first time in Lupghar Sar . South of the Lupghar Sar is the Momhil Sar. Crossing the north ridge, the main ridge runs to the summit and leads down the southeast ridge to a saddle that connects it to its eastern neighbor, the 7577 m high trivor . The southwest ridge of the Momhil Sar leads down to the Gharesa Glacier also known as the “Trivor glacier”. This glacier feeds in a basin between the southwest ridge, south wall and southeast ridge of the Momhil Sar and the northwest ridge, the west wall and the southwest ridge of the trivor. It flows to the west, its outflow flows at Nagar in the Hispar . West of the Momhil-Sar-Southwest ridge, the Gharesa Glacier is fed by a nameless glacier that has its feeding area between the west wall of Momhil Sar and the south side of Lupghar Sar. The northeast side of the Momhil Sar nourishes the Momhil Glacier , which also carries the snow masses from the north side of the Trivor and the west side of Distaghil Sar , the highest mountain of Hispar Muztagh, north to the Shimshal Valley promoted.

Ascension story

The only climb so far was achieved by a Styrian team consisting of Hanns Schell , Rudolf Pischinger , Horst Schindelbacher , Leo Schlömmer and Rudolf Widerhofer , who in June 1964 climbed the Gharesa glacier to the junction between Trivor and Momhil Sar, where they set up their third high camp. Until then, their route was that of the first-ever climbers of the Trivor four years earlier. After failing first to climb the southeast ridge, they returned to camp 3 a few days later, but now crossed into the south-east wall of the Momhil Sar and finally reached the summit over the south ridge in about sixteen hours.
